Coming Home
As you have probably noticed, Homecoming weekend at UGA is much earlier than usual this year. I always enjoy the weeklong festivities, including the carnival on Legion Field and crowning of the King and Queen at the Saturday game. I am looking forward to our time together with alumni and friends as we celebrate another fabulous Homecoming week.
I always tell our staff that part of our goal on campus and in the residence halls is to help students feel at home. I strongly believe that we all need to feel comfortable in our homes, and UGA is a home for our students. Students who feel comfortable and supported in our learning environment will be more engaged and can achieve at their highest potential. We all play an important role in creating a welcoming community. When we each do our part and remember the importance of “home” in our life, homecoming is something that happens for our students every day.
Be well,
Victor K. Wilson
