VICE PRESIDENT ENEWS MESSAGES

July, 2019

Free

In this month we celebrate our nation’s freedom, I am especially thankful for the opportunities we each have to stand up and be heard.

Often, especially on social media, it can seem like there is an endless stream of perspectives to consider. But consider the opposite—without the opportunity to express ourselves freely. Of course, that doesn’t mean we will agree with or appreciate every perspective shared. But we have the right to offer counter perspectives and lift up others all the same.

In our work with students, let us remember to help them value their individual voices and the important perspectives they have to share, while simultaneously hearing others.
