Summer Thinking

One of the great things about summer is the opportunity to think back on the successes and challenges of the past year and look ahead to the year to come. As we move into summer, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about how we can continue to build on our outstanding work in Student Affairs to improve student life at UGA.

As examples, some opportunities I have been considering are:

  • How we best continuously ensure student safety
  • Further ways we can help students develop more fully as leaders and engaged citizens
  • Helping more students find balance and reduce stress and anxiety
  • Strategies to help students become more resilient and overcome setbacks
  • Means to ensure every student at UGA feels valued and supported for who they are

While these are complex endeavors, I challenge us all in the new academic year to work toward concrete ways we can work together to benefit students. We have amazing talent and resources in Student Affairs and at UGA. Our students deserve our best thinking. Now, let’s get busy and create some magic!
