The Big Picture
The recent recurrence of that annual rite of passage—the photo line of happy graduates at the UGA Arch—is only the latest visible reminder that it is indeed a time of celebration.
While we are all well aware of how this year has looked and felt like no other, our students have continued their exceptional accomplishments, in and out of the classroom. They have been resilient and dedicated and have every reason to be joyous—and so do we, as we have had direct contributions to so many of their successes this year. How awesome to be a part of their journey.
Over these final weeks of the term, UGA is hosting a series of thoughtfully planned graduation events, including International Graduation, Lavender Graduation, and Rite of Sankofa, to honor our students. This year’s graduates have achieved in ways others have never been asked to. I propose that we continue celebrating them in the same outstanding manner! As always, they deserve nothing less!
